Updating Your Theme
Theme updates include new features, improvements, bug fixes, and compatibility updates.
Important Information
Please Note: Shopify themes cannot be updated automatically. To use the latest version of the theme, you must install the new version from the Shopify Theme Store and then publish it when you are ready.
Shopify has an article with more detail about this here.
Your products, collections, pages, blog posts, and store data are not affected during this process. However, any custom code modifications will need to be re-added, and some third-party apps may require additional configuration after updating.
We strongly recommend testing the updated version before publishing it to your live store.
Check for Updates
When a new version is available, Shopify will display an update notification in Online Store → Themes.
Click Review Update to learn more about the available update.
Install the Latest Version
Open Online Store → Themes.
Install the latest version of the theme from the Shopify Theme Store.
Review your theme settings and any customizations.
Test the updated theme thoroughly before publishing.
